I just saw that AMD was taking over 'Alchemy Semiconductor', a company that makes high performance MIPS based precessors. I wonder what the future has in store for this...

I think he did it because he wanted to.. theres no actual reason, just the fact that he's ANTI-AMD! KILL HIM!!!

but seriosly, i can't believe 2 people wouldn't want AMD to bring out a PDA, who wouldn't? it would run quake smooth like a baby's ass..

personally, I'd like a MAC pocketPC. They're 400MHz CPU's are faster than Intel's 800MHz CPU's. But of course, nothing would run on them, but if only ...

Mac don't make mobile chips, and even if they did, they would be WAY less powerful than the desktop versions and be running at speeds of 150-250Mhz anyway, so, whats the use?

BUT, it would be a MIPS basd processor, so add it to the list of MIPS machines...
