That is the most ludicris thing i've ever heard. Do not ever compare a ppc to a plam again. THey could not possible be as good. THey are going to have to emulate all palm software made on the old os. Its only going to be 80% compatible. It is still a palm. OS 5 will suck. And those stats you see on palm still the one, are horribly biased because as we all know brighthand is biased. Also, the stats in that all say that ppc's are taking the high in market share. The title is even biased. Grrr... i hate brighthand.

I was actually offered a brand new Palm Vx for £15 (about $20) today, and have borrowed it so i can 'test' it. But the thing is, i cannot possibly understand why palm owners actually try and say that their device is better. Previously, i've just let people be entitled to their opinion, but now i don't even know why they're being compared. It's like comparing an ice-cream van with Mercedes SLK: While the SLK is obviously the faster, more powerful vehicle, it's kinda crap for serving ice-cream - they both serve different purposes. If you want a multimedia powerhouse, get a PPC. If you want a cheap, small device for syncing addresses, appointments, email, playing small games, etc then get a Palm. Their price and size make them perfect for this. No contest.
However, i have to note that there seem to be some seriously talented Palm coders, pushing the little bugger to it's limits. Why don't they switch to PPC and help push the boundaries of our devices? Has anyone seen Serious Sam on a Palm?() Why the hell haven't we got a version yet, it'd be even more impressive!

that's impressive, for palm.
its no quake though!
palm has too many developers, and too much software...only some of it is really any good...on pocketpc, most of it is good, but there is also a much smaller number of people writing programs for it. Better talent, on average though. (something like that)

Obviously it's no quake, but if these guys are acheiving that kind of thing on a Palm, what would they be able to do with a PPC? You know what, i bet if PPC's OS was made by any other company apart from Microsoft, they'd be all over it.

its sick if people aren't doing stuff with pocketpc simple because its microsoft
unfortunately, i don't know c, and am a bit lazy, so i'm probably not going to learn it any time soon, but assuming that i did know it, i'd probably spend time working on some sort of game.
