I think it looks nice.

CARPE's post that started this thread seems to have vanished from the Argentum forum. Not the first post to vanish from there :)

(First post by a moderator to vanish though I think)

There are quite a few decent PPC Warez FTP's..

To hell with buyin' the game.. All the delays, broken promises, etc.. People can only take so much.

They just lost this customer.

oh man, this is like when i go on the trekbbs and see people saying "B&B SUCK!" (they're the guys in charge of trek right now) and "AFTER 30 YEARS - I'M DONE WITH TREK!" then they post some 10 page epic explaining why we should do and think the way they do with points on how to improve trek and stuff - like we're supposed to give a crap that they dont like trek anymore. bah!

Regardless of how prolonged the game's development may be it still does not justify warez. It's not like they stole someone else's sources or work, and don't deserve to make a profit from their efforts.

Maybe culture differences are to blame for the very poor Public Relations that have occurred. At times too much information was revealed, and at others no information was provided at all. In both cases the timing couldn't have been worse. Instead of speaking professionally for the company as an entity, most correspondence takes things to a personal level. Any remark against the company or product is taken as a personal sleight and responded to publicly in that unprofessional tone. Take a look at any support forum for any product, no matter how popular or flawless it may be, and you will find people complaining and otherwise running their mouths over nothing. You will also find in most of those forums that the comments are either completely ignored, or addressed in a professional manner to correct false information that may be presented about the product. Either way no representative of the company gets down in the quagmire and dukes it out publicly for the entertainment of everyone else.

Dan, I couldn't agree more. In fact, most companies who recieve posts/emails that degrade them, simply create an FAQ that explains their resoning behind the issues, and then comments no further, aside from providing an occasional link to it. Take Blizzard for example when they got the creators of that battle.net emulation stuff to shut down their project. How did they inform the public. Not with a "I hate you fucking warez pirates, and I hope you all burn in hell," but a link to a well worded FAQ.

Learn from the masters, or be conquered by them.
