My One Year Anniversary At PM.

Hello everyone. One year ago, around this date, I posted my very first post. It was in the PocketQuake forum, asking a question on how to make PocketQuake work. I received my PPC on 3/12/01 (my birthday), and got PQ shortly after that, and probably posted on the 15th, 16th, or 17th. This has been a great year with you guys, it's amazing I'm still here. I've seen the leaving of many PMers, like 999, Dr. Phat, and Chuck who I never liked. Some people who were here when I started out, like Moose, Paul, Shapeshifter, Dan East, Chris Edwards, and many more (including RICoder). PocketMatrix is a unique forum, it's not just about PocketQuake or pocket PCs, it's about friends. We are all friends from around the world, from Germany to Rhode Island, and, yes, even to Paul's house. I am a member of another forum, one that I don't nearly post as much. That forum is a forum about mapping (making maps/levels for first person shooter games), it's the Valve Editting Resource Center (Valve ERC). I've been a member there for several years (4 years, I think), and not ONCE did I ever see a thread go off-topic. People in that forum don't post to talk, they post to ask stupid questions, and no one ever really talks. I don't know anything about anyone in that forum, you just recognize the person's name, and that's all you know. PocketMatrix is different. We are a groups of friends that, when we sit at our computer and have nothing to do, converse with eachother. If this forum never existed, how many of you would know someone in England that checks out a girl in a library every day? This forum isn't about questions, it's about international friendship, and NO, we are not geeks or low-lifes because we post 1000 messages here, we are meerly a group of friends that hang out on the Internet. *starts crying* Group hug! *Ideot and Paul immediately hug, Moose slowly joins with the rest, Werner hugs his bike, Paul grabs library girl and makes her join the hug, and Dan East joins with a big smile*
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I am offended.

No mention of your friend from next door.

I think I'll hug my wife instead.
Cheesy stuff aside, I think we can assume we're friends here, even with the bitching and picking. That's nice. :)

I take that back.

Touching...seriously.

I was trying to figure out why I stay at PM vs. all the other PPC sites out there...and the only reason is the people that hang here...

Warren, you're in Boston? Maybe we can form a "user meet," and all hug for real!

PS - I agree with Warren, even though I've only been posting off and on for six months

Warren, pleasure to hear that. I think you got the point about PocketMatrix :)
*I love you, I love you all*
I cant even remember when I did my first post. I know what it was about and I know I found PocketMatrix by following a link from pocketgamer either to argentum or to pocketquake. i really like this place, the forums are my start page.

I never make fun of or argue with someone that I don't consider a friend. Good post Warren, but I just looked back at the nearly two years I've been here and only see how many books I could have read, how many parties I could have gone to, how much of the real world I could have grasped before that graduation date that's coming up. I'll never get to see my real life friends again, but you people will stay with me forever! :P

wow Im gunna cry too. lol. Seriously we are all friends here, and when we do fight its usually over something thought provoking and that makes it apparent that we have a great group of intelligent and creative friends here. I wouldnt trade this forum for any other. Now that I come to think of it I started posting here a year ago last october, but under the name XID at that time.
