This is what I want, and I think there should be a discussion about it again.
A simple 8.5x11 web pad. Thin, cheap, CF or PCC built in. Running PPC2002 at 800x600.
Problem is, everyone wants to make it fucking WinXP or something. Then it is heavy and has a HD and sucks power. This about what you could do simply by using the parts in a normal old PPC2002 device and just making a bigger screen. How thin, light and useful.
You could even write on it in a useful manner.

LCDs are expensive and suck power like a mother... I mean like a child on a mother's bossom... (okay, I'll stop)

Well, it wouldn't use PPC2002, maybe the Windows CE 3.0 "base" for making the OS though.

They do have HPC's with displays at 800 by 600. The NEC Mobile Pro 880 HPC Pro has a 800x600 resolution. And the Intermec 6651 Pen Computer (HPC) has a 800x480 resolution.

old topic, but I wanted to respond.
Have you guys seen any of the new Mira stuff? It's is pretty slick and it sounds similar to RIC's desires. I think it's based on CE.Net. If I can find the link to it, I'll post. BUt it was a little bit ago. I think I found it under MS's download site. .

Yep. Built in modem/ethernet ports, like on laptops. Have an optional docking station for people that need to add keyboards, monitors, pacemakers or what have you.
