PPC Game Pricepoint (.... and a shameless plug)

We are testing a new pricepoint for PPC games software over at Handango for a few weeks:

<b>For a limited time you can get your own copy of <a href="http://www.handango.com/PlatformSearch.jsp?siteId=1&jid=291EE17765A8FFD83473D22C246D4E26&optionId=1%5F2%5F2&txtSearch=chopper+alley&platformId=2">Chopper Alley</a> for just $5.99!</b>

If you're not sure what Chopper Alley is all about - download this incredible cool video and see for yourself...

If this turns out to be a success, you can expect to see more high quality games at rock bottom prices in the near future

Take care!

Cool idea! I was thinking that something like this would be possible: PC games are often rereleased as budget titles afterwards, why not PPC games? Might even help with the warez issues, if games were available at this price.

But Chopper Alley for 5.99?! That's one crazy deal! :) If i didn't already have it, i'd definitely buy it. BTW I noticed that only the MIPS & SH3 versions were listed, not ARM, is this intentional?

No - both ARM, MIPS and SH3 (HP540 only) are included in the offer. It might just be that the Handago site updates the content (price) a little slow. They should all be visible.

Genius idea! I think that you will really help discourage warez by doing this, as well as increase the sales. For instance, I'm 12 years old. I can't get a "real" job, so it's hard for me to get enough money to buy games for my iPaq. So, logically, I would be therefore drawn to warez because of lack of funds to buy games legally. Luckily, though, I am thoroughly opposed against warez, but that is a different subject alltogether. By the way, I haven't bought it yet, but I've played my friend's copy of Chopper Alley and I love it! Keep up the good work.

I don't know if it will keep it off the warez channels, since price doesn't seem to be of concern to those people. You'd think the initial launch of Snails at $11.95 would keep it safe- nope.

This Handango thingie seems pretty cool though. Especially after Chopper Alley was rated one of the Top10 PPC games by CNET, it should be gathering loads of attention. :)
