Memory effect appears especially on Ni-MH batteries [like in cell phones]. All newer PocketPCs have Lithium-Ion [Like your J525] or Lithium-Polymer batery [Like my iPaq :]]. Unfortunately, I forgot about it, and was trying to format my battery [like with cell phones, drain it to empty and charge it to full three times]... Don't try this at home! Now my iPaq is in service somewhere in The Netherlands...

Because it uses the entire battery simulatenously, so if you let it drain down than you ruin the entire thing equally. By charging it all the time it will only drain one part of it over and over again so you've still got the bottom half.

I don't really know, I just said that cause everyone else had some kind of input.... I felt a little left out, but now I'm good ;)
