Is Bochs the x86 emulator?? If it is then PocketBochs sounds amazing! Where can I see these screenshots? (and why hasn't it been released?) Even if it was slow, I think people would still like to see it just for the hell of it!

Well, Dan posted some screenshots from his iPaq in this thread:

Seems a bit pointless for me to have to redo the portions of the port that he´s already done, just because he´s (possibly) too proud to release his work in progress because it´s too slow...

Anyway, whatever... Guess I´ll find out for myself whether there´s any point to this port...

PocketDOS is somehow able to achieve usable performance. Seems hard to believe that it´s not possible with Bochs. Maybe the PocketDOS developers deserve more credit than they´ve received on this forum...

Later,

Bochs porter

PocketBochs emulates desktop x86 CPUs, not some 15 year old OS that barely supports EGA.

PocketBochs emulates desktop hardware so you can run any and all desktop software. PocketDOS emulates an extremely old and unusable, mere novelty OS at -- considering what it's doing -- very slow speeds.

I remember screenshots of it running on the Pocket PC.
