I'm going on my lunch break in 2 hours and I am (after many months of pondering) going to buy either

Jornada 568

or

Ipaq 3870

After many months this is it!!

Only thing is can I run decent games/emulators on the 568 and is there a controller/joystick product/sleeve like the HANaHO Ipaq one?

Thanks for listening![/quote]

I think the jornada supports multiple button presses. So there is no real need for one.

Hp 56x

This always starts those lame debates, but I'll make it quite clear which is the best.

Hp 568 for quite a few reasons:
1) The screen does not have gamma issues like the 38xx series of ipaq, and before the dust issue comes up, it only applies to early models, if you're buying a new hp 56x, the screen will be sealed.
2) Comes with cf builtin, rather than adding bulky sleeves.
3) Removable battery
4) Most (if not all) the problems listed at www.ipaqpetition.com are not present in the hp 56x. (sd issues, etc)
5) All ARM apps will run on 56x just fine if the developer isn't an ipaq nazi. (eidos + ideaworks)
6) Builtin screen cover
7) sexiest device ever.

Oh, and about the joypad, there's the zeta joypad, dunno what the hanaho one looks like since well i don't own an ipaq.

expansion

Oh, and also, cf to * converters are typically cheaper than sleeves, so expansion (as if you need anything beyond a cf card accessory) is cheaper than on the ipaq side.

Basically put:
If you want problems ( http://www.ipaqpetition.com/petition/index.htm#38ISSU ), go with ipaq and become just another name on the petition.

But in response to the button press issues, if i'm not mistaken ipaq 37xx and above fixed the button press issues. And yes, 56xs do support multiple button presses.

Good luck on your purchase.

I absolutely agree with anon. I have a 3835. I would much rather have a 568 anyday for the exact same reasons

You know, you really could have just put all that into one post, since you're all the same person...

Of course you can. I believe MS made that a standard or something like that.
everything you can do on an ipaq you can do on an hp.

good choice with the jornada. In fact, I would almost be willing to trade my e200 for a jornada. Almost. The IPAQs suck. The name is too big, so they can get away with too much shit. Enjoy your jornada.
