What's this about the e740's button problem?

The Asus Zayo MyPal A600 PocketPC has everything you want (except Consumer IR). It gets 10.3FPS in PocketQuake and 56FPS in PocketTV (iPaq H3900 gets 7.8fps and 22fps respectively). Plus the battery life is better than the iPaq H3900 but a couple hours. I've had my H3955 for 4 weeks now and I've only recharged it twice. It's screen is great. It lets sunlight into the display and reflects it back out using the sun as a backlight. It's amazing. I can leave the device's backlight off if I'm outside and I get even better battery life. But the Asus has better battery life than the H3900, plus it's faster, thinner than the Toshiba e310, and the screen is second to the H3900.
The Genio's buttons are depressed deep into the device so they're hard to press normally, let alone for games.
Out of the devices you listed I'd say the iPaq is the best. Out of any device, the Zayo is the best. The Zayo is also cheaper than the iPaq and many accessories are planned for it.

It's faster in everything but a handful of VOBenchmark v2.12 tests.
As you can see from the benchmarks, the hardware (memory, blit, int/float) is NOT that much faster than the iPaq or Toshiba. However it still runs PocketTV twice as fast and PocketQuake 50% faster. I'm confident that it is software optimizations within the Zayo's PocketPC OS that is the cause for the drastic increase in speed. But what do I know? I could be mistaken...

Interesting how the e740 blows away the rest in BitBlt, from the Imageon. Thought it wasn't being used to it's fullest.
Preformace wise, its awesome. The final version will apparently have a case too. Very cool.
No reviews on the battery life, and the screen? (only a bit.. sounds like itll do fine) But only built in SD. ARGHH!!

out of the choices, i'd probably buy a 550g. I have one, and I'm pretty happy with it. Although the screen is as good as the 3900, its pretty close. You have to give it credit for its brightness. The larger screen is awesome, and as for the buttons, they're not that bad. Sure they're a little recessed, but you can still press the buttons...well i can. Anyways, I think its pretty fast too, compared to most other x-scales, but im not sure about the zayo. Anyways, I'd recommend the e550g

I forgot about the ASUS, my mistage. Yes, I would probably go for that ppc, simply because it does seem to do everything better than the compition.
As for the button problem, it appear (and I believe this is how it happens) if you are pushing on the dpad, than the button to the right of the Dpad (or maybe it was the left) does not respond correctly.

The e550G is the only one out of those devices that has built in SD and CF, isn't it? But I don't like the design of the e550G. It doesn't appeal to me, the screen looks over sized, the little cap joystick looks funky... I'd just go with the smallest, fastest, brightest, and longest lasting PocketPC: the Asus/Razor Zayo. They plan on supporting this thing to the death. It's going to have digital camera sleeves, GPS, keyboards, the whole nine yards. So you won't be left in the cold if you buy the Zayo. Plus it place things 20% faster than the 206MHz SA PPC but with better battery life and a brighter screen.
Zayo is the best PocketPC on the market today, and I haven't heard of any up and comers that could out do the Zayo. The only thing it's missing is Consumer IR, and heck, your TV does come with a remote, doesn't it?
