For all of your Jornada 720 needs.... try :

Both are great sites with pretty much complete Jornada 720 software listings, including emulators.

I pretty much only use YameCE which emulates both GB and NES quite well, and you can get that at TechMage's pimpin' forgotten software site:

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the info. I have those sites bookmarked, but they don't really let you know how well the programs work. I was looking for some input as to actual user experience. I love YameCE on my PPC. Hopefully, the YameCE version for the HPC works as well as that one.

Well, I've come to realize that I can't really expect that much from the 720 in terms of speed (that 206mhz is really misleading).

PocketDOS is really too slow for most games to make it any fun, I tried Lord of the Rings, Dune, and Monkey Island and they are all sooo slow, not much fun.

I've also tried a few sNES emulators and got the same result, games will load but sloow, even with a wicked frameskip of like 30.

I've tried the spectrum computer emulator and that runs pretty well but I think that the computer that its emulating was a POS anyway so the games are kinda bad, and it only has support for a few types of games and most of the better games arent in that format.

The MSX computer emulator also works pretty well, good speed, but again the computer its emulating was kinda mediocre and again the emulator only supports a certain format game and most of the good games arent in that format.

Same deal with the C64 emulator, runs well but doesn't support any of the good games.

FrotzCE is a good emu but Zork is only fun for so long.

The SCUMM emu is still in alpha so it doesnt work so well but what it does do it does at full speed with sound.

I just wish someone would port an AppleII emulator, that would kick ass. What else...

Umm.. the Mame emulator only supports a few games and the screen formatting is screwed up so most of em you can't see the full screen.

So, I've tried a bunch of the emulators and wasn't terribly impressed :)

Isn't YameCE supposed to support TG-16? All i want to play is bonk and millitary madness and neither of the roms work with it... I hope it's just something I'm doing wrong :)

Wow... I'm pretty long-winded

WOW!! Thanks for the great feedback. I appreciate it. Its too bad that these emulators run so slow on such a great machine.
