There is a 1 GB MicroDrive, which is a rotating disk (not solid state) for $399, and a 1GB Solid State Compact Flash Card for $599.
Solid State also provides quicker response, zero seek time, and uses much less battery. The MicroDrive has a faster sustained read and write speed, however. For playing games off of storage Solid State is better because the game won't pause in the middle to seek data off the card, for playing movies the MicroDrive will be able to sustain a higher transfer rate..
But generally the higher speed of a Microdrive compared to SolidState is negligable on a PocketPC.
