So the Zayo isn't that bad... but isn't it unusable for gaming due to some problem with the D-Pad?

Who said that? Of course it is. It's just a 4 way D-Pad, like EVERY other PocketPC out there, except a "patched" Maestro
And so was the NES D-Pad, and the Genesis D-Pad, and the SuperNES D-Pad... So everyone just needs to calm down about this 8-way DPad hype. It doesn't make a difference, especially when most devices are able to emulate 8 way, like my iPaq does.

Uhm.. all of those pads you mention were 8 way. The genesis had grooves for the other 4 ways even.

The NES and Snes are both definitely 4 way, maybe they emulate 8 ways... I wasn't sure about the Genesis, but I thought I'd throw it in, too.

BUT THE POINT! is that most PocketPC's are 4 way so it's not some uncommon thing and some deadly flaw, especially when it emulates 8 way quite easily.

I don't think it really matters whether it's emulated 8way or not, it still can move in 8 directions.

Plus, it won't make much of a difference in games, unless it will only accept calls for a "true" diaganol (yea I can't spell) button press, in which case, it'll be mostly as useless as a 4 way pad.

Yeah, like Genesis is playable on any PPC right now. Maybe wait a year or two for optimizations... I don't even think the PSX had true diagonals, but multi button presses (right + up = diagonal upper right move)

And I read up on the Asus Zayo throughly now. It doesn't support true diagonals, but it supports multi-button presses, so it can do diagonals if you want it too. The gamepad is also small, so pulling diagonals off shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Trying to get my mom to let me use my own money, but its still a hassle. She still thinks another scam is going to happen when I buy online....ugh

Oh, I thought the Zayo had the buttton issue like the original iPaq did. 4way vs. 8way doesn't really concern me...
