You need a special program to unpack .rar files. I use the 40-day limited WinRar demo. You can get it at
www.download.com
Use a search engine to fine Quicktime to AVI converters.

Don't think you can. QT Pro supports AVI export, but not to divx, so you have to goto uncompressed, then use VirtualDub to goto divx.

I tried using TMPGEnc but the effect was not good.
RAD Video tool works for me. I can convert qt to avi and then use virtualdub to compress it.
