Dell Axim 300mhz vs. strongarm 206?

Hi,

I've seen a couple of benchmarks that show the 300mhz dell axim being significantly faster than a 206 strongarm pocket pc. However, I know that means didly when there is no software optimized for the x-scale.

My question is, when the x-scale is in "strongarm emulation" mode, how fast are we talking? Is it as fast as a true 206 strongarm, or slightly slower? I've found nothing so far covering this topic.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Slower by a lot? Do you have a number? I'm looking for a new *cheap* pda, but I want something that runs current games at a decent clip too. But on the other hand, it would be nice to have something that would be compatible with future stuff. Oy. And of course there is the nice screen on the dell.
