my only concern is, will it be ok to put 6v into my e570 as it only needs 5v?

I use the battery extender from www.semsons.com, it works really well and I have an Audiovox Maestro. If you check there site, you can see if it is compatible with your device. As far as the voltage, mine can only take 5 volts as well, but I use NiMH batteries instead of alkaline, so the voltage only equals aroun 5.6 volt which my Maestro can handle. But im not sure about your device.

That's what the diode does. If you put the diode in then it lowers the voltage to a cozy 5V. The article says that Casio users should remove this diode. The D Cell batteries built up to 6V with 4 of them, that's why you'll need the 220 ohm diode.

Check out the Deluxe Battery Extender article, it's a lot more detailed. Bring in your device and the guide talk it over with the guy at Radio Shack. Radio Shack people are usually very knowledgable and they'll help you out. They even have a list of the catalogue numbers on the guide website so you can go right in and say I want this and they'll get it for you.

Yes, I believe so, but you still might want to check semsons site for compatibility. If its not listed on there site, you could email and ask them.

I agree with Dan you should keep the diode. There is however aprox .7V drop across any diode. That's how I test them. My meter displays the voltage drop across the diode.
