Hello all,
I tried to convert a Mpeq file (from VCD using VCDgear) with virtualdub. But when I use the parameters from this site (DVD to Divx), it has an error message saying I don't have enough data to continue. Please kindly guide me to instructions on:

(1) How to convert mpeq file to divx
(2) maybe just convert good mpeq file for ppc without going to divx.

My source mainly from DVD, VCD, and recorded TV program in Mpeq-1 format.

Thanks.

Not sure what the problem is encoding your mpeg. I assume that you can open the mpeg in vdub and preview it, is that right?

As to your second question, if you are going with mpeg you would be better using pockettv which you can find at www.pockettv.com along with links to encoding guides. Recommend that you use tmpgenc for your encoding. However, bear in mind that you'll need bigger files to achieve equivalent quality to divx.

Personally I would try to resolve your encoding problem and stick with PocketMVP but try both and see which you prefer.[/url]

thanks for advise...

Last night I tried out pocket tv with their parameters. the result is not bad at all, but with the price of bigger file size.

my question is: where can i find a good step-by-step guide to convert mpeg (like, from VCD or recorded mpeq-1 tv program) to divx file? the guide i tried with doom9, somehow does not work for me. VirtualDub would say i don't have enough data to process the audio??!! And it stops. I followed the steps there but could not do anything about this error.

Thanks again.
