ELITE?

ELITE?

Postby chrissikurz@web.de » Feb 16, 2003 @ 2:15am

Does anyone know this very old vector-graphic game wich was running on those sucking c64?
i would like to see this game ported because of it´s cool gameplay.
think it won´t be to hard at all.
perhaps you could even port elite II : frontier
would be cool because of the more ships and planet landing...

or is something like that already been ported?

It's been ported, and has been taken down. I don't know if it'll ever return, there is a substanital chance that it might.

The source was never released for Elite 2. The reason why ports of Elite 1 exist because it was reverse engineered from the ground up - many many weeks of manpower.

Elite: TNK was reverse engineered from the original sources. The author was fine with this, but he would lose the copyright, so he's taking down all these projects. Will probably end up being shareware for a dollar or so.

why would it have to be reverse engineered if they had the original sources?
