Ya, buy now. Anything you buy now isn't going to be outdated at all any time soon. Developers designed their games for the PXA250 in mind so all games run perfectly fine on current devices.

Everything could be improved with speed, but videos run fine and look perfect on the small PocketPC screen already, I don't know why you'd want more bit rate out of them anyway since that would only make the videos much larger in file size. Emulators can be optimized, just look at PocketNester. It runs NES games at greater than 100% speed. Before it was released the next fastest NES emulator could only manage 70% of full speed.

Of course we could use speed increases. I don't buy my desktop computer based on the minimum requirements for a game that came out a year ago.

The point, which, I've noticed, is often missed here at PocketMatrix in favor of silly arguments over mundane details, is that current devices will not become obsolete overnight simply because new PocketPCs have a faster bus speed. Games and software are designed for current devices, and will continue to be for years after the PXA255 is released. PDAs are not like desktops, one doesn't upgrade it every 6 months. It is rare to see someone upgrade their PDA in under 2 years.
