Monkey Island 2...

Postby Jaybot » Jan 19, 2002 @ 1:33pm

okay, i have full version of DOTT and SamnMax running perfect on it now :)

just make sure that the files in samnmax are renamed from samnmax.sm0 and .sm1 to samnmax.000 and samnmax.001 if you have that version
and for both games get rid of the mounster.sou file, or else it will freeze any time the game tries to access the file (whenever the text pops up)

as for full throttle.......... i imagine it would work, it used the same engine as samnmax..... so all you would have to do is rename the files fullthrottle.exe etc.(or whatever) to samnmax.exe etc. and it should work by running the pocketscumm thing using the samnmax thingie...

damn, now i gotta go find that one too :)

this is good because the version of dott i have messes up in the same place each time and it sometimes has memory problems trying to play the whole of an audio file (the speech gets cut off a lot)

Pb on my iPAQ

Postby Jne » Jan 19, 2002 @ 2:57pm

Hi,

I have a problem on my PPC2002 iPAQ 3630
When I try to launch PocketSCUMM-ARM it tells me about "missing components"
Just like the old "gx.dll" missing message...

Any ideas ?

(I've put MI2 files in same dir)

Indiana Jones works-Monkey Island 1 does not

Postby Nikolai » Jan 19, 2002 @ 8:16pm

This is great. Indie works well on my IPAQ. I had a floppy version of it. I wonder if the CD version would work. Probably not.

It's going to be diffucult for people to use this Scumm engine only because floppy versions of these games are almost impossible to find now. Even the collections you buy from LucasArts now come on CD.

Monkey Island 1, installed from the LucasArts adventure game collection on floppy disks did not work.

I have yet to try any more. Too bad this Scumm engine for ppc doesn't let you play Zak McKraken,
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Loom, or other Scumm games. It seems limited to the menu it provides for the first 2 Monkey Island games, Indie and the Fat of Atlantis, Sam & Max, and Day of the Tentacle.

Jaybot, first off I am simply asking cause Im not at my house and can't sync to this computer so I am just curious to hear about it. So deal with it. Also I don't see why CD games wouldn't work they have the same files on them the floppies did, just in different directories. Loom and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade should work if monkey is working, they were the same "engine" but good luck finding those games. Zak McKraken and Maniac Mansion I would imagine don't work as they don't have the same resource files. Also does this support sound yet or no?
