Yes, Loom requires CBR - when compressing to Ogg format, try to make your tests on 11 and 22 kHz sampled files as 22 kHz is a bit too much for the slowest devices.

Broken Sword 1 and 2 sounds cannot be compressed yet, but it's a work in progress.
