Still a no go.

Downloaded the new Unstable CVS head version(Thanks Arisme), the dig seems to work fine with speech and videos compressed. But the compressed audio has it crashing right after the intro.

Assertion failed _numfiles

(z:\pda\dev\scummvm.branch.0.6.0\scumm\imuse_digi\dimuse_bndmgr.cpp, 163)

If someone has a fix I am all ears. thnx

Hi All,

Frank_m, I'ved PMed you in regards to a BUN compression support build...thanks in advance for any help.

Also, to all, anyone else having any trouble compressing the BUN files from The Dig?

I'm using the latest(?) ScummTools with the following command line:

compress_scumm_bun digmusic.bun e:\temp\dig\ e:\temp\

I get the following error a few seconds after processing:

Got error from encoder. (check your parameters)
Encoder Commandline: lame --vbr-new -V 9 -quiet -t "e:\temp\/ASTERO~1.IMU_reg000
".wav "e:\temp\/ASTERO~1.IMU_reg000".mp3

I'm using LAME 3.92.

Any help or insight anyone can provide would be appreciated.

Thanks...

Just to update, I've played through an entire game of The Dig with everything compressed in the manner previously mentioned. The sound playback during movies was missynched, though the only one long enough to really be noticeable is the opening movie. The lip-synching of characters to their dialogue was slightly off throughout.

I did experience some odd behavior towards the very end of the game -

-in the cathedral spire, where the movie that shows Maggie getting blasted off of the elevated path after activiating the machine plays. The first time I played through this part, the movie crashed right before the explosion occurs.

Unfortunately I didn't write down the error message since I was expecting it to be duplicatable, but it was something like "fade missing". I reloaded and tried again; this time, the movie played through without freezing, but the SCUMMVM Menu button (the first one on the bottom left) stopped responding, meaning I couldn't exit the game. I kept going all the way up to the credits, and then had to do a reset to exit.
