Just a note to say that when Andy releases the version of PocketSCUMM with sound, make sure under DOTT and Sam&Max (if he gets S&M sound working) that you also copy the Monster.sou file over for cut-scene speech and SFX.

You'll need to give the games a different DIR with a copy of the EXE since the files are all the same. Hopefully he'll also fix the volume issue as well since right now it's hard to hear the speech.

I still can't see the volume issue really - I fear I'll have to dig through some pretty foul code.

The scumm source code has support for renaming the monster files to the same name as the executable, ie

tentacle.sou
samnmax.sou
atlantis.sou

etc. So you can have them all in the same directory
