What must i copy to play SAM&MAX ?

I got the samnmax files you have and I tried renaming them but the program aborted with an error. Could somebody help us to start the game?
I saw a nice tutorial at the beginning of the forum but it didn't explain how to install samnmax nor the dig either (the other game I'm interested in)

that's what the manual says:

simply place the 3 files:
Samnmax.000, Samnmax.001, and monster.so3 in a
directory named: samnmax.

but the point is, there is no samnmax.000 nor samnmax.001 instead i have samnmax.sm0 and samnmax.sm1.
please help!

not necessarily ... it can be an unsupported (for now) version of Sam & Max too

Hmmm. I'd read 2 or 3 posts that said all you had to do was rename them. Go figure. It continues to amaze me how many different versions of the individual Scumm games there are!
