I think I foound a new bug...

I was happliy blowing away snails last night, when I had something that HAD to be taken care of...so, rather than quit the game, as I wanted to go back... I turned off the power to my iPAQ. After taking care of business, I gleefully turned the iPAQ back on only to discover... the volume in the game wouldn't work. I tried going to my settings, and that was fine, and seeing if the system was mutes, and that was fine, and then checked the menu, to see if the sound was off, and it wasn't. I even tried turning the sound off then back on, and that didn't help. HELP!!!!...BTW, the game was not paused when I turned off the machine. (I don't know if that will hep at all, I just thought you might need all the facts)

That's a known bug with all games using GAPI.

Well, better to have posted something that was already know, than to have kept my mouth shut and discovered something new, and that is why I'm also posting this one. When you use Snails in conjunction with Pocketblinds, Pocketblinds keeps rewriting itself over the top of the screen(where the bar normally is) it then gets written over by snails, and again by Pocketblinds...this is the only program I have seen that does this...any answers?

that's a bug in PocketBlinds I think. It does it in every game, I think (all games I've tested with it, I don't use it anymore)

To my knowledge, i think Snails uses FMOD. There is a new version of FMOD released, which is apparently capable of recovering sound playback after a device switches off. Maybe it'll be incorporated into a future release.

t1 is correct, that is a problem with the older demo versions, where the sound wouldnt come back on after a power on.. due to fmod.

but the sound has worked fine after turning off and on the power on my ppc for some time now..

try downloading the latest version from snailsgame.com if you encounter the error again.

Odd,

I just got this version last week (I splurged and bought it) AND I have the 1.6 update... It still does it. Would it help at all to let you know that I'm also using WISbar?

Try turning off/on the sound from the menu. Haven't tried it here, no clue if it works.

I've been using WIS Bar and Dashboard on my E-125 since day one and my E200 since about a month ago or so, and no problems here.

Perhaps it is a problem with the Ipaq or the Nooginz Insipid processsor.

We'll look into it.
