Level Editor

would anyone object to me making a simple level editor for snails?

features i'm planning on including:
automatic bmp->zbm conversions
.lev file generation
documentation on .lev files

i have a simple design drawn up in delphi that's already useable, the only features i have left are the ones listed above. i'm asking before i do them because they are the most time consuming, and i don't want to waste my time if a level editor is already in the making.

Automatic BMP --> ZBM conversion isn't that hard, you just have it automatically open the program supplied by the Snails team, feeding it the path of the BMP. As for the .lev file generation, that also shouldn't be that hard, just prompt the users for the info and output it to a .lev file with the right syntax. I've been meaning to make one for about 3-4 months now, but I've been really busy

Actually, I'm working on something similar... the Snails File Editor... orig. a text editor that opens Snails Files on the PC (and soon on the PPC), Peter Balogh is urging me to add much more features...
