okay I call BULLSHIT on that.
I am tired of these vendors referring us to their crappy emulators, expecting that this is sufficient for us to port the game to the device. I realise that Jonas is NOT a vendor and only trying to help.
First and foremost, emulators gives us no indication of actual performance and rendering issues that may occur. Second, we have no idea if the control is sufficient and acceptable for the device. Multiple button-press issues, crappy Xscale implementation... that kind of shit happens and its REAL.
This is why 99% of mobile software is complete crap. It isn't designed with the actual hardware in mind. Its all an afterthought. So you have shitty implementation and haphazard input systems.
While the emulator will get us partially there, we need an actual device to debug on. Once again, those devices that we actually have in-hand (whether loaned or given) will get priority.
Furthermore, since Snails is now multiplayer, we need to ensure cross platform compatibilty with devices that already support Snails.
At this point, its a waiting game until Peter goes and buys a Palm OS5 device, or one is loaned to him. Palm seems to be on the short-side of providing ample games for their new device, so it would seem in their best interest to help us out here.
