ZBM Tools are Broken!

ZBM Tools are Broken!

Postby hockeydude » Aug 17, 2004 @ 5:44pm

I think the ZBM tools are broken! I can use the ZBM2BMP but not the BMP2ZBM....it just doesnt work. I place the file onto the tool and nothing happends. I know there had been some trouble a while back with XP so maybe that is what is going wrong...but then why would ZBM2BMP work? Is there any way to remedy this? I just got done with a new level and now I cant even use it.

Well they dont work for me either. For now, Im assuming you have XP. Well, the snails comiling proggys are for dos. That might be why its not working right. For some reason one works for you and not the other. You could just try the dosbox thing.

Hmmmm...its a possibility, but I kinda doubt that a third party Dos emulator will solve the problem. I may have to look into it though.

if you are using xp, create a txt file such as "zbm2bmp.txt" rename it to "zbm2bmp.cmd" then type in the directory of the zbm tools. on my comp it is "C:\snails\" add zbm2bmp.exe so it is C:\snails\zbm2bmp.exe then add a space and the name of the file

the entire contents of the cmd file should be "c:\snails\zbm2bmp.exe level.zbm"

it works the same way for the bmp2zbm tool.

also, some of the files are protected and can't be converted.

posting from pda

I hope this helps

Thank you very much. This didnt exactly work, but with some experimentation I got it to work. I had to copy everything into a SNAILS dir, on my C drive to get it to work! Thanks again!

I didn't mean you had to create a snails directory I meant you had to use the direstory of your zbm tools.
The snails directory is just the one I made to keep the path as simple as possible. It will work in any directory as long as the path to the zbm tools is correct and the picture file is in the same directory.

Yeah, that works, or you can do everything by command line (which is what the programs runs in). hit your start button; select run; type cmd; find your program folder; type in the programname.exe and the file you wish to convert. Works beautifully ;)
