Game crashes...Why?

I have the same problem, but it happens on the first mission for me. I have an E-200.

I've emailed this to Peter a week ago before I realized this wonderful forum existed. I'm glad to see that I am not the only one having this problem. I thought it was only isolated to the iPAQ3800 devices, but it looks like E200's are affected too. The computer opponent takes too long to make it's move then it locks up, then it crashes. Sometimes it happens the first time the computer makes their move, sometimes it happens 10-20 minutes into the game.

It does run flawlessly on the HP568 though. No crashes so far.

Hi guys,
I'm working on the problem. Something weird is happening with the ipaq 38xx. I've received word that it works for some guys after hard reset and reinstall. I've also heard that having USB cable plugged in help. (How on earth can that affect the game??)
Anyway, I'm buying a 3870 now and I hope I can figure out the problem for the next update (next week).

I mentioned this in another forum - basically everything I've released (GAPI or not) has had odd, very sporadic quirks on the 38xx devices. Do you guys have problems with all the 3rd party software you use?

Dan, it seems that there IS a problem with a lot of 3rd party software. I've just purchased a 3870 and i'm having issues with a number of apps & games that use GAPI. Aside from the well-known GAPI slowdown issue, certain things still don't run well or at all (certain emus even '38xx' updated, PocketQuake 2, etc) Most commercial games seem to work fine, apart from a small minority. BTW I have tried with & without SP1.

Why is this?? I love my new machine (w/ bluetooth!) but i'm starting to wish i didn't get rid of my 3630, quite so soon... How the hell do Compaq manage to fix the button issue, improve batt life, increase colour depth, etc but still manage to add new problems!?! Mabye they just like the challenge...

Well, the reinstall didn't work, but I did instal PI 3.0 preview, which overwrote 2.6b, and now it works perfectly. I guessPI was the one causing the problems?

What's PI?
One PocketPC 2002 machines you should delete the gx.dll from the snails directory, it'll solve part of the problem.
An update addressing stability issues and adding more options and stuff will be out in a few days.
