Turning off the music and sound should help as well.

Strange, I get about 3 hours on my Casio E-125 at full brightness, overclocked to 200Mhz and using a microdrive.

what the hell you are kidding. The most i ever get out of my 3670 is maybe 2 and a half hours on the lowest setting that is not off for brightness

I played through the entire game in less than 4 hours and it didn't kill my battery. I think I had the sound disabled on my e-125, though, since I was in an office building.

Tips like turning the brightness and sound down will definately help. I think headphones will allow you to fully enjoy the sound, without killing battery life.
