I'm pretty new at designing levels and I'm having a problem. I've decided to try my hand at designing a level based on an image of Spongebob's place that I grabbed from my daughter's Spongebob DVD (I wanted the "cartoon look" and the layout looks promising). I've converted all of my files to .zbm format with all images at the required sizes. I've created a .lev file with the following entries:
; SnowMode:
; 0 - Snow falling from top in the background
; 1 - Snow falling from top, hitting terrain and disappearing
; 2 - Bubble going up from the bottom in the background
; 3 - Bubble going up from random places
; 4 - Snow falling from everywhere, hitting terrain and disappearing
; SnowBlt:
; 0 - normal (ff00ff is transparent)
; 1 - lighten
; 2 - darken
; 4 - semitransparent (50% alpha, ff00ff is transparent)
[LEVEL]
InternalName = "Spongebob"
Name = "Bikini Bottom Raid"
Description = "Snails have invaded Bikini Bottom! Wait... Can snails swim?"
Backround = "Levels\Spongebob\SpongeBkg.zbm"
Foreground = "Levels\Spongebob\SpongeFg.zbm"
LoadScreen = "Levels\Spongebob\Spongeprev.zbm"
Preview = "Levels\Spongebob\Spongeload.zbm"
Music = "waltz.xm"
SnowPic = "fx\bubbles_01.zbm"
SnowAnim = "ABCDEGHIHGFECBABCABC"
SnowAnim = "DEF"
SnowAnim = "GHIH"
SnowMode = 3
SmokePic = "fx\bubbles_02.zbm"
SmokeMode = 0
Gravity = 60
Resistance = 30
And I have made the backround of the front image magenta (255,0,140). The problem is that when I load the 4 inages to the Levels\Spongebob folder and add the spongebob.lev file to the levels directory I can't see the level in the selection screen. What could I have done wrong? BTW, This is still a WIP. I still need to figure out how to rip the backround music and tweak the optional settings.
