How about some levels modeled after people's avatars?

Muffins! (R0B)
Deathmoose (Moose)
The Hand (VI)
The Guy From DOTT (I forgot the character's name) (Jaybot)
...

You get the idea

Yeah, I think a muffin level would be great. I've been thinking about making one for a while now but haven't gotten around to it. And there's also the fact that my art sucks, but that's another story :)

I can draw well but i hate using programs to draw. So I think i'll draw then scan it in.

That's what I do when I actually get myself to draw (all I can draw well are aliens). I usually draw in pencil, go over in pen, then scan it onto Photoshop and use my mouse tablet & pen to edit... kickass combination

I use a standard set of drawing pencils, a mechancial pencil (.5mm) and a kneadable eraser. That works out pretty well for me.

well said, randall. to be a bit more specific, i can always come up with great ideas in my head and imagine exactly how it should look, but i always have trouble translating that onto paper. Maybe it's because my hand-eye coordination isn't that great. Maybe it's because I'm just not that talented when it comes to visual art (i'm more into performing arts). Anyway, i couldn't agree more

No, usually that is caused by distraction. Paying attention to the pencil, pen, mouse or brush is a distraction.

If you are using Photoshop or anything similar, you shouldn't be drawing on a "per-pixel" basis. Even I can't draw like that, neither can a bajillion other artists. Zoom out, and draw with a wider stroke.

Drawing in pen/pencil and paper, then scanning it is the best way to start out. If you can't do that, then start out in Photoshop (or whatever) and start drawing with a view that allows you to see the entire image. Only zoom in when you need to fill in the details.

That allows you to ensure the image matches the image in your head.
