There is an MFC sample included in GapiDraw. This may be what you're looking for.

No, it isn't, I looked through that pretty extensively. Its still for doing it in a single window. I wanted to be able to do it in the view from the doc/view architecture .. I ended up just using GDI+ so its all ok.
