Hi,

Would be much obliged if people could take my new game Galactic Assault for a spin.

Image Image Image Image

It is a replacement of my Invaders clone and is - you guessed it based on Invaders LOL. Really heats up at level 7+ :D

I have changed the way the registration nag screen works from my other wares to give you one life only as opposed to annoying you every 30 shots.

I've tested it on a Jornada 568, iPAQ 5550 5450 and 3900 series.
(Did find the 5450 a bit slow until the backdrop was turned off)

Planning to release within the next week unless something serious arises 8O

Let me know what you love, hate etc If I have time I may well change it - if not maybe in 1.1

Arm/XScale Device, 2.5Mb Storage and 3Mb to run.

Many Thanks

Great :-) I'll play your game tonite :-) And will let you know how it works on my H1910.

[/updated]

I tried your game and I have a suggestion. Can you make the first level easy? meaning the speed of bullet should be slower and the fire rate should be lesser too. I just want to perfect the shots on the 1st level but I cant. Or maybe it's just me playing hehehe. Well just a thought that you might want to consider.

Okay, I've easied it back a little. You can get the updated .exe only at (just overwrite the one installed in you "program files\pocketblasters\galactic assault" folder)
I have also updated the original install.

Whilst not completely original I have put a lot of work into this one and even bought an iPAQ 5550 off the back of it 8O so that I could make sure that mediaQ issues were acceptable. I was also planning on paying for some advertising for this one as well.
So to be honest I'm not sure about the price, I was thinking $8.99, what do people think :?:

I suppose 'cause I coded the game my skills grew with it so it seems really tame even on my 568 (well the early levels anyhow - you gotta see levels 7+ for difficulty) - and I kept cranking up the difficulty LOL. I am looking for a balance between a quick 10 minute blast then PDA away for later and enjoyability - as always a two edged sword.

There is a strategy involved but I can't reveal it as the fun would be taken away :D

The third game in the series "Iridium G" will be a top down scroller with power-up's galore and swirling attack patterns etc. (Skills permitting)

I did take a look at the inbuilt 2.05 splash but didn't particulary like it (CGapiDisplay::OpenDisplay). I know that people (you know who you are) have been hassling Johan for a logo to use but he keeps dishing out the 'S' To be honest it reminds me of the Hyundai badge on my now defunct car so I couldn't bring myself to use it LOL The one in the game is actually the icon from the sample programs - sorry my artistic skills leave a lot to be desired. Must admit I would prefer some kind of dowloadable add-on from Viktoria that would handle the splash screen (obviously with a choice of effects etc) - but hey thats just me being lazy LOL

Nice game - I'm not sure if it's my device or not, but the stylus movement seems to be tap based, rather than drag based - is this deliberate?

I agree w/ the tap and drag plus the autofire feature. You can have them as options in case you're not that confident w/ those features being "on" all the time.

As far as I have observed, its always good to start w/ easier levels. Psychologically, most customers tend to leave a game that doesn't get them easily on the first levels. Let them start and breeze through a number of levels and then start pumping harder opponents in the latter ones. And most people love bonuses so give 'em that too. This is just an observation and I'm not stressing anything though. :)

Thanks guys :D , so what we have so far is:

1] Change stylus control to drap & drop
2] Definable keys (gapi exposed only, may add others later)
3] Auto fire (fixed rate)
4] Level selection (will trade against player energy/life)
5] Give player a to be defined super weapon (max two per ship, pick more up on asteroid bonus levels upto max level)
6] Introduce a "smart bomb" asteroid for the above asteroid levels
7] 4 lives to start with

Better fire up mspaint then LOL

Bearing in mind the above changes does $8.99 seem like a fair price :?:

Is there some sort of release schedule that gives some idea of when bigger releases are appearing :?:
