well... Im ganna start doing MIPS assembly, since im getting a BE-300, and im getting the PS2 linux Dev kit, and since both of those devices use MIPS processors, im ganna have to learn asm, I know C, some C++, just no graphical stuff, but thats what im working on now. If you want I can help you write a MIPS version in ASM, in like 1 month. also why SH-3????? they suck, they are realllylylylyly slow, and the processor in the BE-300 , is better than the ARMS, but like you guys said before, the compiler sux!!! the BE-300 can do 285MIPS, non overclocked, the e-125 can do 205mips @ 150mhz, and i think the ARMS also do like 2??MIPS no more, the XSCALE 1GHZ only does 1200MIPS the 400mhz does like 3??MIPS

all the specs mean shit, just try real life tests. i used to have an em500, now i have an ipaq. the ipaq is way faster.
thats all there is to it.
Why?

If you write a MIPS 64-bit asm routine, it probably would run faster at the same clock-speed as a StrongARM. There are other important factors besides cpu. Like, what is the fsb or the speed of the RAM on the e125 and the BE-300? The iPAQ uses 102 MHz SDRAM.

You know what, bitch? You aren't going to win this argument.

I don't care if it has a bajillion caboodles of Flashable ROM. The mere fact that it is Mips makes it obsolete- MS declared StrongARM the winner and all new PPC2K devices are required to have ARM. ok?

Next year, even IPAQ 36xx (approaching 3 years old by then) will be capable of playing the latest games. Be-300 doesn't even have shit now- is that number going to skyrocket for some unknown reason? ok?

Any BE-300 support you see now, is because the developer decided to dedicate his time to this niche market. It certainly isn't going to generate a huge income, and never was intended to be the primary target platform. ok?

Mips isn't better/faster than StrongARM. Numbers don't mean shit- if you were a real coder you'd know this. Only real benchmarking will tell the story. Right now, one of the best benchmarks in a realworld setting is PocketQuake- oh that's right, you can't run PQ. ok?

Casio e-125 can be overclocked to nearly match the mHz of iPAQ. E-125 still runs PQ significantly slower, due to its inefficient use of floating point math. How does e-125 compare to be-300? who cares, they are both obsolete. ok?

Overclocking lowers battery life. So don't claim that you have all these mHz AND a weeks worth of battery life. ok?

You're comparing apples with oranges, and you seem to know nothing about fruit.
