Device not recognized error while compiling using evb--Help.

Postby Just4Fun » Nov 14, 2002 @ 1:03am

I am trying to install EVB to work with my HPC2000 Jornada 720 Arm. Problem: When I try to debug using the device. I get an error that says the correct device isn't connected to the PC. This is driving me nuts. I've installed and reinstalled the sdks and evb. I've even installed everything on two different computers. One running XPHome and one Win98se. I've searched everywhere on the web, but there seems no answer to this problem. Is there anyone here that has any ideas to help me troubleshoot this thing. I'd like to spend my time developing and not fighting with the environment. TIA...

... are you compiling a debug version for the correct platform?

Yes. I believe so, but just to be sure, I tried EVERY option for each sdk 2.11 through PocketPC that I have installed. None of those worked either. The project was created using the HPC2000 sdk property. That is the OS indicated on my Jornada 720.
Any other ideas?

The Jornada720 is not a PocketPC, it's a HandheldPC running WindowsCE 2.11

But no, no ideas. I'm not that much of a programmer. I just hang around here to make myself feel good.

Thanks for trying to help with this. I am pulling out all of my hair and banging my head.
The specifications that I get from the Jornada 720 is that it is an HPC 2000 running version 3.0. Are you SURE that it is a 2.11? Maybe that is my mistake. I've tried executing under 2.11, but maybe I should try that again.
Just having someone dialog about this helps me keep my sanity. I've been working on the installation for two full days now!
