Video--maybe a daft question

Im looking to embed video into an application,i have no money to buy a license for a 3rd party answer,Is it possible to code this myself or does anyone know of an sdk i could use that requires no license

You could always look at Pocket DivX. Licensing should be fine as long as you aren't using it in a commercial app. It would be interesting to create a DivX DLL that can play video in a viewport instead of fullscreen...
