i remember that on palm there is Master Of Orion clone, and theres 2:
1. Strategic Commander by Zindaware
2. Planet by ???
These 2 games very simple yet still addictive..

I prefer Strategic Commander, and the difference from MOO is: there is no ship customization only one ship could be manufactured, there is no strategic battle just random oucome fight (like civilization), there is no technology advance customization only one technology could be researched.. and the last there is only 2 building could be build on planet: Manufactur & Research center.. Manufactur produce money or ship, money could be used only for build building..

It`s basic MOO

Organic Superlube? Oh, it's great stuff, great stuff. You really have to keep an eye on it, though--it'll try and slide away from you the first chance it gets.

Why don't we developers just combine our time and expertise and create one? :) It'll sure be fun to work w/ cool people.

My 2 (euro)cent...

Programming a game like MoO is not really a trivia task. But I was a fan of the game too and I think that something similar on ppc can be a great hit.

I have one or two new ideas for my second ppc game, but working alone on the coding side is a bit boring and you can't just expect to building a big game if you don't want to live a life hitting the keyboard... and here in Italy we can't live without a pizza or a night drinking two or three bottles of wine...

So if really someone wants to start to code a game in cooperation I think it would be an interesting and fun idea... Maybe I can improve my english too :)

Hi Thomas, I didn't know you were in Italy, that solves my holiday plans for the next few years. Seriously though it's a great country & one of the few countries I would be happy to live in. Scotland has a big Italian community (they came here as POW's in the 1940's & stayed because they liked it so much. Because of this we have great ice cream)

Back on topic, I'm not free to join in on such a project as I'm hard at work on my own game & encourage anyone thinking of doing this to take their time so that my game is out long before the suggested conversion :)

I don't want to get anyones hopes up too soon, but my friend and I have started working on such a clone.

I dont think the actual basic game mechanics will be too hard(I allready have the turn based fight sequences basically coded), but the AI is going to take some serious time.

I'm pretty sure we are modeling it more after MOO2. If there are any suggestions you have about gameplay that needed to be changed or added, they are most welcome.

Conan, I like your last paragraph :).

Hi Ian, yes I'm Italian and if you have a plan to spend some time on my country and you hit in your way Padova let me know and we can drink a spritz, our tipical aperitif (I can't really say no to a drink) :)

So someone have just started to code a MoO clone, it's surely a good news. Good luck DillRye :)
