I have recently began playing Ultima Online for the PC, and I thought,"this would be a great game for the Pocket PC." The graphics are fairly simple (but still look good) and a 200mh Pocket PC would run this game nicely. Now I know we can't port Ultima Online because of many factors (500 megs of memory required, not open source, etc.), but it would be possible to make a game similar to it, but with a smaller game world. The trick to making this new brand of multiplayer games, would be to allow playing the game from a PC or a Pocket PC. That way when you were at work, school, or on vacation you could still play online through your Pocket PC but when you were home you could play on your PC. Charge a $10.00 fee per month and a game like this could roll in some serious cash. Of course creating a game like this would take a dedicated team, and you would have to constantly be creating patches and maintaining the server, but I am sure many people would pay to play such a game, including myself.
