“Any chance of the 2700G being superseded by a newer chip, or will it be around for a year or two?”
There are 3 versions out now I believe the 2700g is the MBX light chip. It’s possible for someone to use one of the two more powerful chips. You might see MBX chips used but not the 2700g version from Intel. A lot of company’s have a MBX licence so we should see an MBX without the 2700g name.
”NV only showing there GF4500 and that is not "the solution", Bitboys where running FPGAs, they need muchg more time and thats all.”
I agree GF4500 is not a good solution, from what we know of the GF4500 it’s a very poor chip. It’s lacking in must have features and the screen shots on its website look very poor perhaps a full generation behind the MBX. I don’t see anything going for it. It rumoured to be slow as well.
Bitboys are all talk; I don’t recall them ever getting a product out in shops in the past 10 years. ATI seem to be the closest at beating the MBX but its not going be easy for there none Tiled based chips to beat a Tile based MBX.
