Don't suppose there would be a way in which an end-user can run a program, have it hook into something, and gain at least a fraction of the speed PocketHAL would give you? IE replace all calls for something with PocketHAL's.

Let me ask you another question. On your website you mention that devices that are not currently optimized for fall back to the same mechanism as GAPI. Do you have a list of specific devices that are optimized for? We see no performance change on the Axim X5 300mhz with PocketHAL. Have you optimized for that device? If not then it would be a very good candidate, because it is prolific, and has terrible display write speed. Like max 45 FPS with nothing but a memcpy loop.
