no, not really
anyhow
To my knowledge only the newer "better" devices can be flashed, as they have an "eeprom" not a "rom".
Older devices like hp430's etc don't, and if ya stuff it, it just requires a hard-reset... (bummer), I don't even think the 500 series can be flashed, I know the casio E1xx series can not be.... ipaq, yep, wouldn't run it on an ipaq (fullstop), $600USD is a lot to waste
(thats it they port it to other cpu's

)
but again, why?,
hell us programmers only have to currently contend with 4 cpu types, fast becomming 1, I hope!. Not to mention the "non-standard" standards that some PDA developers are "introducing" into there platform, wireless connectivity, so why the hell not add another OS, make it even more simple....
again, what for?, so you can be some fancy computer geek with linux,
horses for courses......
hell I've a few old HP sci-calculators, maybe someone can port linux to punch-cards... why stop there, and how long will it be to someone tried to load linux onto there new "internet fridge",
If linux is so "good" why don't compaq (hp) just make PDA's OS independant.... could it be they want a user-friendy, no-fuss easy to use OS....
don't get me wrong I run free-bsd on my webserver, and I love unix, but on a PDA..... man what next
