Feedback on x86 emulator

I've been following this thread with great interest. If you're reading this, Dan, do you have any idea about these 2 questions:

- How likely is it that sound emulation (SB 8-bit, Adlib/MIDI) will be implemented?
- Any estimate as to what real-life PC speed this will be able to emulate? Like a 386/33?

I'm dying to see if a game like X-COM would be able to run on a PPC... that would be uber cool :D

The sound emulation is not in place at this time. The problem is that the emulator will run at a very small percent of the speed of the real hardware. Thus the PC software running in the emulator is so slow it cannot supply sound data fast enough for a continuous sound.

Dan East

How'd you get the thing to work, jaybot? I gave it regular disk images, and it didnt seem to do much... what are the files that I need to get that to work besides the emulator? (the disk images are on the microdrive's my documents folder). That, and for some reason, the keyboard's not popping up correctly (just lines on the left side of my ipaq), but I can enter disk images in.

still shows lines on the left hand of the screen- could pocketpc 2002, or gx.dll have anything to do with this?

Ah. Just translated the page the emul is on, and the line bug was due to their software, the new version that they put out has fixed the ipaq problems that are observed.

Yeah but once the disk images are on your PPC how do you get it to the stage where it is a dosshel so you can run programs from it, and where do the programs you want to run have to go? for example wolf3d (not that it would run great, just giving an example of what im asking)
