Sorry, I know that. But some guys asked me A LOT of times to do that game after the Nutcracker. Hence the smiley. You couldn't know that of course.

Actually it is. There are some clones for the Palm III C which look pretty sweet.

IMHO, the palm has some pretty decent games; like someone said most clones of old dos stuff. There's a whole lot out there, just begging to be ported.

Ok, while it is in my nature to rip palm apart at every turn, I will say that it did have some pretty cool games.
Probably like the really cooll games for C64 and TI994a...I mean, you have no power or graphics capability, the only thing left is playability. Right? So it makes sense.

I did see one game, I think it was Space Trader or something, for Palm...my buddy has it. It was cool. You know what that one is?

Hmm...ppl are talking about writing thier own adventure games using some engine. Do you guys have any idea of the amount of effort needed to create all those graphics?

well i dunno, you need at least... 60+ locations, the objects to pick up and the characters... its not that hard - you wouldnt do it singlehanded though.

In my experience, having worked for a game co. and as current owner of a business co. with graphics on staff, I gotta say that art is ALWAYS underestimated. Our staff has PhotoShop, Premier, Flash, and SoftImage. These guys bang out graphics that are beatiful, but it takes time, and a lot of effort...that's the tough part.

Making 'cool' graphics is one thing. Making polished 'great' graphics is something completely different. Anyone can code a text adventure. The real pros can make AOE, C&C, Quake, etc.

I made a static line based D&D game using QBasic. I only coded about two scenes when I realised I didn't know how to make a Sub routine in QBasic.
