Using 2 screen taps would allow for some interesting games and/or input methods however.

I believe that it is impossible because of the working mechanism of touch panel.

When you press on a touch panel the voltage between two panel change. if you press two points, the change of voltage is no longer linearly and there is no way to find which points are pressed.

Yes, but the point is that if there's a button in the center, between two other buttons, and that button is pressed, then it can be assumed that the two other buttons were pressed.

No, it's not perfect.
