Yes it's confusing because one could argue that on his device the content is actually rotated 90 degrees CCW from the native screen layout. It is that rotation that any app would have to worry about when writing data to the raw frame buffer.

The way I see it, the actual hardware device (LCD) is rotated relative to me. It does mean that I have to rotate the image the other way.
