HI am sure that you have seen warez sites posting the links to download FREE full version software from Handango. So are you changing the name of your full version files frequently to prevent expoloit of Handango security gap that allows anybody to download full version of your software FREE? How often do you do that?

Is this true? I haven't encountered anything like this yet. I will definitely bring this topic to Handango so that they will be aware of their security loopholes.

There has been talk of a mole within Handango but not a security hole / backdoor until now. We all know that any firm depends on the tech who controls security/firewall etc to be honest. Unlike other online stores there does not seem to be a Handango presence here or at least they don't post.

It's very worrying if this is true but also not too difficult to find out if it's happening as you just need to browse the warez scene.

it is true - and the problem is still not corrected.

When you register on Handango as a Developer, there are some options about the registration keys. Their website interface is very helpful.

Go and register at handango.com [ developer ] and play with it. They have a good registration codes options and documentation and you can choose which one do u prefer.

Having a registration key in your software will minimize piracy at least than having a commercial version. [/IMO] Based on my experience... they can just email the installer to their friends.

OK thanks, I'll check it out. I'll definitely have a registration key, like I said I've put one into a product before, at install time it was actually burned into the executable.

it is a problem for us because we have just started using the RPN generated key based on PocketPC Owner Name (in our new titles) Both Handango and PocketGear are supporting that and this is working fine. Problem is that all of our older titles have full versions available on Handango - it will take a lot of time to redo the protection and resubmit the new software. It may not even be worth doing since older titles do not sell very well.
+ what is the point in doing that if someone will post a link to competing application that can be downloaded for free?
