I'd prefer instead to point out the difference between accuracy and precision.

3.1 is an accurate value of pi, but not very precise.

5.1415926585 is a precise value of pi, but not very accurate.

3.1415926585 is both precise and accurate.

Above, instead of losing accuracy, what's really lost is precision. Red isn't suddenly changing into green, it's just lost some gradations of value.
