anyone know where I could find some good tutorials on loading 3D meshes. .md2 format for example. Im working on my own game at the moment, and I am looking around for some good tutorials on loading 3d meshes.
Also, I havent been able to find much on this, but When loading Levels, say for a racing game, does one load the entire level and just clip it? Or would it be slow to load the entire level into memory, even if say the level is around 100-300kb?

Google for "md2 format"
Also, check out Milkshape, 3d mesh editor that has a simple ASCII file format that is very simple to read and write. It can read/write/edit most popular 3d mesh file formats and it's very cheap.
As for level loading, the level size should be chosen to balance the time it takes to load vs. the number of times you have to load. Honestly, it's about user experience and how much patience they need while waiting for things to load.

Is it ok to load the entire level into memory then? for performance reasons during gameplay?
