In the UK there are the Orange SPV phones and the Motorola MPX ones.
The MPX200 which I have has just been withdrawn from sale so a new version must be coming soon possibly with 2003 OS.
The SPV E100 sells for around £70 on eBay and the MPX is double that. Both have an SD slot and both can have add on cameras.
Both can be unlocked for free so we can install apps that are unsigned.

The SDK is free from Microsoft. 50Mb download.

50 megs, that's without the evc++ compiler, right ?

most of the 50megs are docs I think, and the emulator.

I downloaded a complete evc3.0 200meg set which includes
both the ppc2002 and sp2002 sdk.

Didn't bother with 2003 versions as I prefer the stuff I do to be
able to run on even older smartphones/ppc too.

Yes, for only the Smartphone SDK & it's a 50 meg download. If you don't already have the embedded tools you need them as well.

As soon as I get a chance I will port over a PF demo to Smartphone.

Sorry, I don't remember the answer to this as I put my sim card in immediately. I don't want to remove my battery just in case I lose anything.

You could get away with any sim card but would not be able to connect via phone.
